Chiroptera

CHIROPTERA™ targets the growing need for high accuracy data for environment data and surveying shallow water regions, i e survey depth down to 10 meters. The CHIROPTERA™ sensor will be based on the existing DragonEye and HawkEye technology and more than 25 years of deep water survey experience.

The new sensor includes two LiDAR scanners, one red scanner operating at 1064 nm and one green at 532nm. The entire system, weighing less than 50 kg can be mounted in a helicopter or single-pilot airplane offering the highest possible cost-efficiency during operations.

The development effort focuses on fast access and data availability and reducing the post-processing time. The two sensors operate simultaneously and use state of the art real-time digitization of the return signal. The CHIROPTERA™ sensor will also include a high precision position navigation system, an advanced flight digital 40 MPixel RGB camera and necessary ancillary equipment.

Airborne Hydrography plans to release the new sensor during 2012.
