Airborne Hydrography AB has several successful projects that could be used as examples
of the complex types of products/projects that AHAB could perform.

The Hawk Eye II is a state of the art Airborne Laser Bathymetry and Topography System (
ALBTS) designed for rapid and efficient data collection in the coastal zone. It can,
in one mission, gather both bathymetric depths and topographic elevations in the same
coordinate framework. Integrated in the system and sighted co-axially with the laser
optics is a geo-referenced high-resolution digital camera. Hawk Eye II is thus an
excellent tool for rapid environmental assessment and coastal zone charting. The
system is capable of meeting IHO Order 1 requirements and IHO Special Order requirements
in shallow depths.

The HawkEye
II systemhas performed numerous successful surveys
around the world since delivery
in 2005.

In 2004 AHAB received the
commission to develop new airborne laser scanners to Top Eye AB, part of Blom ASA
group. All seven TopEye systems have been upgraded to an mk II
version, the last delivered in 2006. The upgrade included new scanners, lasers, receivers, optics, electronics, detection
algorithms and software.

The TopEye MKII LRF is a scanning Laser Range Finder for altitudes up to 800m with a
pulse repetition frequency of 50 kHz. It is specially designed to comply with the needs
of TopEye AB for integration in their Topographic measurement systems operated from a
helicopter. The shots are distributed on the ground in an elliptical pattern with a
degree of incident to each side of approximately 20° and in the forward and backward
direction of approximately 14°. This has the big advantage that both sides of objects
like houses and towers are measured in one over flight which minimize the shadow effects
that is common with an ordinary saw tooth scanner pattern.

The complete LRF delivered from Airborne Hydrography AB contains of the following subsystems.
- Sensor (contains scanner,
fiber laser and receiver optics)
- Electronics Unit (contains
electronics and receiver detector)
- Computer (data storing,
encoder counter card and digitizer
- Cabling
- Optical Fiber
- Control and echo extraction software
The TopEye MK II systems have excellent ability to create very accurate
terrain models (elevation ± 3,5 cm, x/y ±5 cm) and to penetrate vegetation.
TopEye also creates high resolution ortho rectified images / models based on
the data from the TopEye Mk II system.
